Frozen Dead Guy Days

Over the weekend, I went up to Nederland (just West of Boulder) to check out Frozen Dead Guy Days, a festival celebrating this old man who died many years ago and is cryogenically frozen...It's this incredibly morbid festival that has become pretty famous and there are various activities, such as a "polar plunge" where people jump into a cold lake for a nice dip, frozen t-shirt contest, brain freeze contest, etc. The event is highlighted by the coffin race, where teams carry customized coffins through an obstacle course. There must be someone (alive) in the coffin at all times. There's a picture below. Nederland is quite a place to begin with, and this festival really tops things off. Beautiful weather, celebrating frozen dead guys...a good time had by all. And if it means anything to you, I saw Moosebutter sing live there!

Here's the story of the Frozen Dead Guy: http://www.nederlandchamber.org/info/frozen.htm
