Running in the Loo

Sunday, April 10 came upon on us like allergies and hay fever in the springtime...It was the weekend of the St. Louis marathon, which I had been "training" for since early February. On my first trip to the Loo, I was lucky enough to have my good friend and fellow Eating Club member Megan accompany me. We also had the pleasure of hanging out with her younger, but taller sister Lauren. (I have now been lucky enough to meet 50% of the Sutliff's).

The temperature in (Meet me in) St. Louis marathon day was about 10 degrees hotter than the average. I also remembered what humidity feels like again after living in the harsh and dry desert conditions of Boulder, CO. All you really need to know is that the race was real long. It pretty much panned out how I expected it to be. Megan was nice enough to run parts of it with me at different points throughout the race. I finished in 3:47:18, a new PR. Thanks.

Other highlights of the trip included:
- A trip up the infamous Arch. It is real big.
- Eating an incredible Italian meal at "Zia's" on the Hill
- Having some of Ted Drewe's world famous frozen custard
- Looking for non-existant bus lines in the city
- Mocking the "half-ies"

Of course the most important part of the trip was my return to the juice after a 2 month sabbatical. So when you see me next, buy me a cold one. Peace out. (A special thanks to Megan and Lauren for their generous hospitality)

Here are 2 of many reasons why I am grateful for living here (and reasons why you should come visit!):

1. Men's Journal: #1 Best Place to Live in the U.S.

2. Runner's World: #1 Best Running City in the U.S.
